A not so Random Post

I know I've made the right decisions. But they aren't the easy ones.
I came to a point last year, where my wants and desires were seemingly right within my grasp, and all I had to do was make it happen. I like doing things, planning things. And I had my "perfect" life "planned" out. But those plans contradicted quite a few "basic rules" in my life. "Rules" like, not lying to my parents. Not doing things behind their backs. Not giving my heart away too soon...you know...those "basic" things. I guess you could call the "rules" my values, my moral values.

Truth is...I long for someone to understand. Someone to love me for me. Someone that chose me, when he could have chosen another. I want a friend that will challenge me. One I can talk about anything with. One that will lead me.

I feel like in our culture today there are so many young women who are ready for marriage, who are mature enough for it, and who desperately want it. But there are no young men ready for it!

I am sick and tired of "mature young men" who sit on their butts, playing video games, killing zombies, in their spare time. Ya sure they may have jobs, but a job doesn't mean they know what real life is. Real life isn't wasting spare time, cuz there is nothing else to do. Real life isn't playing with giant glow sticks!!

On our way back from Florida, we stopped in Georgia. I saw mature young men there. I met them. Believe it or not, they do exist! We talked about real things. They respected their parents. They worked around the house, and had real jobs. They loved their siblings, and genuinely cared about each others day (I am guilty of the opposite).

Truth is, girls want to marry Men. Real Men. Mature Men. Men that will lead them. Men that will sweep them off their feet. Men that will work hard for them. Men that will put others before themselves.

I feel like I will never meet the perfect guy for me. One that is genuine. I start feeling sorry for myself... I know God has a plan, but it's hard to be content when I get caught up in the everyday things.

I heard a message on the radio the other night, they were talking about idols. And how even "good" things can become idols. My idol has been to find the right guy, and live "happily" ever after. It's a daily battle, even now.

Slowly but surely, bit by bit, thought by thought, I've been handing it over.
It's not an easy process, it has it's ups and downs. But I know He is faithful...

Books

Books are wonderful tools to get you to think. Now, not all books are good books...but that's a different conversation for another time.

I like reading. But I often got bored reading my favorite novels over and over, and I like reading good books, real books, not just "twaddle" as my mother likes to call it.

Recently, a friend from work has been telling me I should read "Radical, taking back your faith from the American Dream" by David Platt. I am only on chapter four, but already I have had a great deal to think about. It is a very good, and challenging book. It has made me stop and think about some things I have never even thought to think about!!

I have also been reading "Joyfully at home" by Jasmine Baucham, also a very good book. Once again I am not very far along in the book, but I used to read Jasmine's blog, so I am familiar with the message of the book.

Also! I have, slowly-but-surely, been reading "Gaining favors with God and man" by Thayer. Also a very good book.

As I finish these books I'll probably post something about them, so if you are interested you could read them and share your thoughts! Because I love hearing what people have got to say:-)

Back Again

I'm back! Back to posting that is. I haven't been very motivated to post, because nothing "exciting" has happened. But that's SO not true! I've been doing all sorts of things, maybe nothing exciting like jumping out of airplanes, but life is definitely NOT boring around here. Wait. You say you need an example? Hmmm...let me see....
There is the day to day stuff, such as... Cleaning, reading, mowing, washing dishes...you know the "normal" stuff:-)
Then there is work...which is time-consuming. lol. But what can you expect? I work Wednesday through Saturday, no more than 8 hours a day (me still bein' a younin' and all;-)).
Then comes my weekends (saturday-tuesday)!! Weekends are GREAT! Not because I don't have to work, but because it's when I get to invest my time in friends. I know, I know...sounds funny:-) But it's such a blessing to be able to bless other people, by doing things I enjoy. I am mostly talking about Sunday's. Our church has a multitude of Little Cuties! I love playing with them, reading to them, taking them on walks, picking flowers with the sweetest little girls:-) I enjoy spending time with the youngin's, I usually do the above with them, after Fellowship meals, or while the adults are having their "meetings". Our church building gets a little crowded, when everyone is inside. And the Little's get a little rammy after being confined, so I take them out to play:-D

Also this past Sunday, we had a very, very kind, sweet family over for lunch. We played games..I made coffee...and we got to visit! It was such a blessing to be able to get to know them better.

Time is going by SO FAST!! I can't believe it's almost August. My little man is going to be six! SIX! Can you believe it? Ok, maybe YOU can...but it seems like a week ago that he was crawling around, playing with some random toy:-)

After you have read all of this randomness, you may be asking if all that randomness was really worthy of keeping me from blogging. The answer: No. It's really not too hard to type and post pictures. But I really didn't have "anything" to post about. Lots of things in my life have been challenging (recently), and I really didn't feel/need to post about any of that, so...I didn't:-D

Challenges are humbling. They either help or hinder our growth, spiritually. They make us stand up for our actions, and challenge the way we think. They force us to decide how we are going to respond.

It's hit me that I am accountable for my actions. Yeah, we all know that. It's easy to say, that's for sure. But when it hits you that you are at a crossroads in life, and if you go this way, these are the consequences, and that way, these consequences. It's tough to do what you know is right, when you are going against what you want. Challenges like these force growth...the kinda growth I don't really like:-) It's out of my comfort zone. But I guess it's a good thing that we confront these "issues".

Today I got to practice my hair cutting skills (those skills being next to none), on a very gracious friend:-D Chelsea is so fun to hang around with. She understands my craziness! lol. And I don't think that I messed it up too terribly muchly. :-D

Sorry I have no pictures! My camera has been out or commission for quite a while, so I've just been using Jethro (my iTouch) (why yes! I do name my electronics!).

Graduation

Ok, so I guess I lied when I said I'd post more:-/ But life happens and things change, but I'm posting now, so what more could you want?!? ;-)

Since graduation is the 'biggest' thing that has happened, I shall talk about that!

Monday, after we got home from Vacation, Grandma took me out dress shopping, because this was going to be my graduation gift!
Kay helped me with my hair. And I let her borrow one of my dresses!

These are all the caps flying after we were announced as the class of 2011

Lots of friends from church showed up. It meant so much knowing that these people came to celebrate this exciting occasion!

This is Soupie! He works with my dad. Years ago, he and daddy would go to breakfast quite a bit. So every once in a while, I would get to tag along. Soupie would "steal" my bacon, and end up breaking my crayons:-) I haven't seen him in years. It was so sweet, and meant SO much that he showed up.

Its a long story...pretty much I had blisters on my hands, and was thankful that it didn't really matter because who sees your hands on your graduation day? So Chelsea and I decided it was necessary that a hand picture be taken:-)

Another inside joke....but its long and complicated...and...yes, you are right...I pretty much forget the joke:-p

It was a crazy day, but it went well, AND I didn't fall!!! Going up and down stairs in heels is...dangerous when they heels are on my feet:-)

61 Days

Time has flown by! It seems like a week ago since I've posted, but its been over a month since my last post, so you may (or may not) be interested in how I've spent my time. Well I'll do my best to explain myself:-)

SCHOOL!!! It takes time...lots of time. But I'm almost done, too. Its VERY exciting. Thursday evening my graduating "class" had a Banquet, you can read My Mom's Blog, and Mrs.K's Blog, about that event. It was lots of fun!

My last day of school is...April 21st. I think:-) Although, I have quite a few reports to write. My last year of school has been "easy" in a way. All of it has been reading, but now I just have to write about the knowledge that I was supposed to have gained this last year;-) So I'll do an update on that last day of school.

I get lots of questions about what I am "going to do after graduation". I never really knew how to answer that. But, honestly I'm still going to be "learning" just not the normal everyday type of "school". There are things I'm interested in learning, I just don't know how I'm going to learn them. Does that make sense? Good! :-)
For instance, I am very interested in learning how to cut hair. I just don't know if I want to "go to school" for that or if there is another way that I can learn everything I want to know.

The 19th, was my first day back at work. Joseph is back for its final season. So between work and school, I'm going to be pretty busy. But I promise to TRY and post more. But life gets in the way! Its not right I tell you!!

I am off to bed! Tomorrow will be filled with school....maybe some shopping (right mom??? ;-) ) and the everyday things.

Because Daddy Doesn't Buy Fire Wood...

We have been cutting, chopping, stacking, loading, unloading TONS of wood.

Our friends have a horse pasture that has quite a few cherry trees, the trees need to be removed because cherry tree leaves are poisonous to horses. So Thursday and Friday, we (Dad, Nate, Rachel, Sarah, Kyle and I) went over to do some fire wood extraction!

Although it wasn't just us, the W family has twin boys, Will and Nate, they are 13 and way taller than me :-( Which I don't think is right! But they know how to work. And that is what we did...

I don't know if you can tell, but this hill is really steep. The first day, Nate (my older brother), Will, Nate (not my brother) and I, were rolling huge logs up this hill. I don't know about the guys, but I have bruises all over my knees from resting the logs on them on the way up :-/ I don't suggest you do that;-)

This tree got caught on the way down.

We tried pulling the bottom out from under its self, that didn't work. Not sure what all was attempted, but all I know is that nothing worked. So half of it is still hanging on up there...

They counted 5 or 6 trees that we cut down, yesterday. This one was really hard wood. It took quite a bit of muscle to chop (although, I only watched that part..so I really can't say how hard it was).

All the pictures I have are from the second day, Because the first day there was definitely more work, at least in the beginning. See, Mr.W had to work on Thursday, so we only had one chain saw going...and everything was different. And also, first day we only had to work around leaves and dirt..But Friday was a whole different story! There was snow. And so the second day was definitely harder. Not because of the work, but because if you took a break, you'd start to freeze! I think it only got to the low 30s. Anyhow, I don't have a ton of pictures because I was the photographer, and could only take pictures when I had a little break.

Today I am really sore. Cherry, is not light. And we did a lot of stacking. But today I have it easy, baking cookies!

Hey everyone!

Sorry it has been SOOOOO long since I posted last. I really truly feel guilty! So I shall explain my absence...

Well first of all we went to Kentucky to see the creation museum, but I think you all know about that.

Then the next big trip we went on was a short trip (yes I think I did just contradict myself;-) to Williamsburgh, right before thanks giving! We had lots of fun with friends from Hospitality Lane! (they are on my sidebar)
On this fun trip we..

Walked around in the hostoricle part..

Went shopping! (Target! It's a great place, even in a different state!). Also at this store called Kings Treasures where I got this REALLY cool/pretty/...ring. It has a aquamarine stone and the band part s silver, and it's kinda Celtic looking! Which I am a very big fan of!!

Also on this trip we took senior pictures! Because..I'm a senior! I am graduating a year

early! VERY EXCITED!!!

And on the way home from this super fun trip, we got stuck in the worst traffic EVER!!!

Also in about the middle of October, I started to work at Sight and sound. It's really fun! And that is taking up quite a bit of my time. And well honestly, I haven't known what to blab about! But I finally decided I'd just...well..blab!
I'd like to take this time to say Hello to those of you who apparently read my blog! It's so funny to talk to new friends, and find out that they "read about that on your blog"...weird!! I mean all kinds of people read my blabbing! Is that a good thing...?

I Had An Idea!

I wanted to make a bag, that had three pockets. And then I thought it would be really cool if it could be reversible! So I found some extra fabric, and planned my design...

This is the general look of the bag. I didn't know what to use for a strap, but then, after MUCH searching I found one that would work!

This is a shot of the inside of the bag, when the flowery print is on the outside...

This fabric is left over from a skirt that I made. Lindsay calls it my retro kilt ;-)

And just to prove that IT CAN turn inside out, here is a tutorial...
It goes from 'retro' seen ^ above...

To this other 'pocket'!! Its really cool and I REALLY like it!

Now I mean its not perfect, and there are things I will do differently next time. But for an experiment, it turned out great! And usually my experiments don't turn out well ;-)

Lets Go Curly!

Tuesday night I asked my Mom if she would help me curl my hair. Guess what! She said she would! So I got a shower to make sure my hair was clean... then we put a TON of moose in it, and then added the curlers! Which is a very good thing to add, if you wish your hair to actually curl:0)

My hair dries fast, and it dried half way though putting the curlers in! So after my head was covered with curlers, I got my hair wet again. Then all I had to do was wait until they dried. But after some very creative ideas to help my hair dry, it was STILL wet. So I ended up sleeping with them in...and the next day...TA DA! Curly Hair!!

But of course, we didn't think to get pictures of my hair without curlers. But this is defiantly something I will do again...so have no fear! You will see...eventually :-)

I am (finally) posting pictures from Kyle's 5th birthday!! And pics of a REALLY cute bag!

My Mom asked Kyle what he wanted on his cake...

I made a cute bag!

We will start with how it looks now!

I had the fabric...but nothing for handles. So Mom and I ran (ok, you got me! We drove) to Jo Anne Fabrics and I found these cute handles, the colors are a tiny bit different (than the fabric) but you can't really tell.

I LOVE the bright colors!!

A few months ago we went to a friends yard sale, and she was selling these REALLY cute dish cloths..you know the decorative kind. The fabric was so big it only took one! All I had to do was sew up the sides..and all the handles!

There And Back Again

It was a great trip! We got home at 9 (pm)ish on Monday, and about 30 minutes later our friends arrived! And that started several more days of fun! I'll post about that later!

I Cut My Hair...

I have been interested in learning how to cut peoples hair. And last night I was online and googled 'how to cut layers into hair', or something like that. And after looking through a couple different sites, I found a really easy "recipe":

Step 1: Comb your dry hair, look at yourself in a mirror and decide what length your hair should be. (You may want to tie this to some physical landmark, such as chin-length, or down to your collarbone or whatever.) Note the length of the hair you want to take off.

Step 2: Assemble your equipment: A sharp set of scissors (if you don't have hair-cutting scissors, fabric scissors are excellent), a comb, shampoo and conditioner. You will also need to be in front of a mirror when you start cutting.

Step 3: Shampoo and condition your hair. Do not rinse out the conditioner--it makes it easier to comb your hair

Step 4: Comb your hair, as straight as you can, and gather it (as if you were making a pony-tail) at the very top of your head--the bit of your scalp that is uppermost when you stand. It may help to bend over while you do this. Try to be precise about this--gather your hair in the middle of the top of your head, not too far forward or backward. Check your alignment in the mirror.

Step 5: Twist your gathered hair as tightly as you can into a spiral.

Step 6: Take your scissors and cut off the length of hair you noted in Step 1.

Step 7: Comb your hair again--straight up to the top of your head--and twist it again, as tightly as you can, in the opposite direction. Most of your hair should be of a uniform length from the top of your head (from the cut in the previous step) but take your scissors and snip off any stragglers.

Step 8: Rinse the conditioner out of your hair, dry it and style as usual.

This really works!! I tried it this morning. And I think it turned out well. Sorry I don't have any pictures. If you try it, let me know! I would love to see how it worked for you!

Today before we went on some errands, Sarah, Kyle and I were out side. These two are so cute together! Sarah is three years older than Kyle, but they look so much alike. And now that Kyle has glasses, they look like they could be twins.

I was asked "Who's mouth is bigger?" :-D

Sarah can still beat Kyle at a race, but one day...

He will pass her up!

These two do not always get along...

But they still love each other.

Sometimes, you just can't capture the joy...

But with faces like these, it's hard not to.

Hello everyone...*well, at least 'Hello' to those of you who are reading this! AKA everyone! WOW! Now that we have sorted that out.

I am SO SO SO, sorry for not posting in forever. Since we have gotten back from vacation, it seems like we have been so busy. I would list all the things we have been doing...except I don't really remember. But I will tell you some (hopefully) interesting things that have been going on...

Friday and Saturday (7&8th) We (Mom, Dad, Lindsay, Rachel and I) went to the Homeschool convention. It is always fun to go and see what there is to learn about.

Sunday (as you know) was Mother's Day! After church we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for lunch (KFC). My brother Nate and Kay (his girlfriend) also went over. It was a very nice day, the kids enjoyed playing the Wii and eating snacks, while my Mom and Grandma relaxed.

Today (Monday, if you hadn't realized), I mowed the lawn! And will be finishing up some school, then later, Lindsay and I will be going to Grandma's to watch a movie and maybe play some games!

I am also looking forward to the 17th (next Monday), because that is when I am done with school! I like learning...really I do! It is just nice to have a break. And in June I will be an auntie! I can't wait.

Really High

We went up 630 ft. It was really fun!

First, you go into this small, round car...thing, that carries you up to the top! (Very descriptive, I know!) Then, once at the top, you can get out and walk around. The small round car things seat five, which was perfect! Because Dad, Rachel, Sarah, Kyle and I were the only ones that wanted to go up!

It was a little scary at first, but once you got to the top it was fine.

(Turning you head to the right) This is one of the, I don't know, legs?

In this blurry picture, you can see both 'legs' of the Arch. The 'Y' looking things are at the base of the 'legs', the bottom of the 'Y' is where you go into the Arch museum, and gift shop, pretty much everything is underground.

Just to give you an idea of how high it is...See these flags?

And you see that white square, rectangle thing? That is what the flags are on.

Unfortunately, it was rainy. So you could not see very far. But can you imagine how far you could see on a clear day?

One day, my Mom, Lindsay, and I went to Target. And I got a RED slushy...

Easter Week

Hello people! I am so sorry I have not posted for a while. We have been doing quite a bit of work outside these day's, because the weather is wonderful! Today it was in the upper 80's! Anyhow, back to the outdoor work (unfortunately I do not have any pictures)...um, where was I? Oh yes, I was just about to tell you:

Saturday, we pulled weeds, and mulched (you can read about that here)

Sunday, was Easter (you can read about our day Here)

Monday, once again we did yard work, but this time it was at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We did weeding and mulching.

Tuesday (today), we finished the flower beds at the Grandparents house.

And tomorrow, I believe that we are going to be working outside...again! But one thing that I have enjoyed, is driving. You might be saying...'That was just a little random'...but really its not! I have gotten to drive back and fourth many times to the place where we get our mulch! Without any animal incidences I might add! Yes, there have been just a couple!

My, What A Day...

The weather today is SO beautiful! We can actually have the doors open, well without the rain coming in:-)

Today I was in the mood for baking! So I opened my new cookbook, that I got for my birthday, and found some recipes that looked good, ok, well a lot of the stuff in it looks good...but you know what I mean.

I found a recipe for these Brownie Crackles. This is a picture of the ones I made. I put peanut butter in this one for my Dad, who has rarely met a dessert that he does not enjoy, says everything is better with peanut butter:-/ I think that is debatable. Anywho...

This is what they are supposed to look like...I think mine are pretty close.

There are two other recipes I plan on making, one is Butterscotch Peanut Bars, and the other is Lemon Crumb Bars. I might have to post some pictures later...

But, before I decided to bake, I was in another mood (yes a very interesting day). A teaching mood. Yes, I think I have lost my mind...because the things I decided to teach them are not the easiest things to do, like teaching Kyle to write our names,

But he did REALLY good, I gave him a paper that had our names on it and he 'copied' it. Now granted not all the letters are together...but he did well, for being four years old!

Sarah learned to knit. I thought it would have been harder for her, because knitting takes A LOT of coordination, but for being seven...almost eight, she did well...

However, we did have to rip it out once, because she used her amazing talents and somehow got this all tangled up!

Also, I taught Rachel a song on the Recorder...I think its the first 'real' song she knows on it, but she did good!

Well that all for now. I am off to try those other recipes!

Busy Little Boy

Why does he have to be so sweet? I really have no idea. But no matter how sweet, or cute he is...he still gets (really) tired.

My mom had a meeting this evening, so Lindsay and I are babysitting. But we have it easy!

Know why?

Because these two are at Grandma's house for two whole nights! They are going to have so much fun!

Now, I did say we had it easy with only having Kyle to watch. But when the others are here it really is not that bad:-)

Unfortunately we have been sick...Thankfully we are doing MUCH better! Poor little Kyle was the first to get sick late last evening, shortly followed by Lindsay. Then it would be my turn and Sarah's too:-( Last night (Monday the 15th) those of us who were sick where up and down most of the night, but around 8 this morning we were doing better. I have slept most of today which I know has helped. Today my Mom got sick, and has been for most of the day. Thankfully Rachel and my Dad have not gotten sick. Our wonderful Grandparents brought us some Popsicles! Thanks Grandma and Papa!

Hopefully tomorrow all of us will be better. I hear its supposed to be a great day, so we might venture out to the backyard for some much needed fresh air!

We would greatly appreciate your prayers.

Someone will probably give you an update tomorrow, until then stay un-sick!

We Have Been Celebrating!

I am 16! Very exciting, although my actual birthday was yesterday (the 8th), it seems like my birthday has been going on all week. Because...Wednesday, I got my hair cut (for my birthday), Thursday, we had our homeschool co-op, and then Lindsay and I went to see 'Joseph' at Sight and Sound, with friends. Friday my mom came home from grocery shopping with some clothes for me (for my birthday), Saturday my family went out for dinner. Sunday, after our church had a fellowship meal, we had a TON of people over to our house! And then later on some other friends came to celebrate. Instead of a cake, my mom made cupcakes!

I got just a couple cards from friends and family!

Some of my best friends stayed the night on Sunday. Monday we went out shopping! It was very fun!

My Brother and his Girlfriend got me a cell phone! Unfortunately it is a pay as you go phone;-) But I have wanted one and they got me one! So 'Thank you Nate and Kay'!!

My Grandparents gave this to me...I think its pretty self-explanatory:-)

Chelsea, very kindly gave me a gift card to Starbucks! Thanks a TON Chels!!

Lindsay, gave me a Target gift card! YAY!!

And two of my other friends gave me a very sweet wall-hanging thing...:-) I like it!

And THEN...today my Dad and I went to get my drivers permit and then to breakfast. I didn't wait very long in line to take the test, and it took maybe 10-15 minutes for me to take the actual test.

For breakfast we went to a cafe in the city. My Dad drove us out of the city and then let me drive the rest of the way home:-D But with in 5 minutes of me driving something VERY exciting/scary/Ahhhhhh, happened...a deer ran in front of the car!!! Thankfully I saw it in the corner of my eye and had time to break. All I could think of on the way home was a very funny fact...I am the first out of us older ones, that got their permit the first time they went for it and within 5 minutes of me driving hit a deer!

Now all the excitement will be ending, and I will return to doing school. Normal life will proceed... maybe I will sleep in tomorrow:-) Mommy Please? ha ha!

Big Year!

Hello! I thought it was about time for me to do another post. So here goes...

I got a calligraphy set for Christmas! I really like calligraphy, but I'm not very good at it:-( But I REALLY like the "V" that I did! On Christmas day I was messing with my set, just trying to do different letters and this one turned out really cool.

Anyhow, this year is a really big year for me not just because I will be turning 16 in 5 days (and in 6 days I will hopefully be getting my permit!), but also because I have my first ever cavity:-( (its very sad...my record is now broken *sniff*), I have a chipped tooth too, AND unfortunately I have to have my wisdom teeth removed sometime this year (AH!).

I would really rather not have them cut out of my mouth...but Mother said I have to:-( I even tried the whole..."but if they take my wisdom teeth out then I won't be wise" bit and she said "Well I only had one wisdom tooth and that was removed, am I wise?", to this I quickly replied "That's because all your wisdom is in your head, mine is only in my mouth"...she laughed and said that I save myself quite well, but that I still have to get them out:-/ Oh well, I tried!

Hello! So sorry that I have not posted in quite a while. This is one of my favorite pictures that I took a couple years ago.

I have recently started counting down the days until my birthday, it is in only 13 days! My birthday is on a Monday, and the permit place is closed on Mondays, that means in 14 days I can go for my permit! WOO HOO! The only bad part about going to get your permit is that you have to 'study' for it. But to me the word 'study' just means read a really boring book that tells you stuff you should remember. I tell you...parts of that book are SO amazingly boring it is incredible!

The other day when we were making dinner the spaghetti didn't want to let go of the pan:-)

And while we were snowed in we made snickerdoodles!

Monday (I think), I attempted sewing...the key word being 'attempted';-)

Funny iron!!

A couple weeks ago Lindsay and I went over to 'babysit' some friends of the family. When I say the word 'babysit' I mean make sure they don't burn down the house while their parents are not home:-) Anyhow, while we were there we made a movie, and in the movie the little girlie's were 'savages'...don't ask (hee hee).

And here they are, (from left to right) Rosie, Rachel, Grace and Sarah. Rachel and Sarah were quite happy that they got to come with Lindsay and I, because they don't have many opportunities to play with these friends! Rosie and Grace have twin brothers, but they were not savages...so they are not in the picture!

So, that's what we have been doing!

I hope you like snow, because I think they are calling for MORE on Monday-Tuesday:-/

Hello! I hope you are enjoying being snowed in as much as we are! Because we (Oh, that is Lindsay, Chelsea, the little girlie's and I) have been making...

Awesome bread!! It tastes SO good! Chelsea seconds that vote:o)

While we were waiting for the ones in the oven to get finished, Chelsea started playing with the dough! It looked fun.

THEN! We (Lindsay, Chelsea and I) decided to be CRAZY! So we went outside without shoes, jackets, and anything else warm:o)

Ugly Cute??

Is there such a thing? Well how about you tell me once you see this chair. The other day while we where out of the house we stopped by Goodwill. Sometimes we find really great dishes, clothes, shoes...and sometimes we don't. But this time we found a really awesome chair! Its pretty small but its pretty comfortable.

I can't really explain the pattern other than it is very colorful, and its sorta colonial...and all that equals out to be a very interestingly ugly cute chair! And it was only $10!

Sorry I have not posted in a while, but what can you do? Especially with school and the normal crazy stuff going on around here.

Fun In The Woods

Yesterday we got back from our little get-away in the woods. You can read more about us going away Here at my Mom's blog.

The day we got to our cabin Some of us went exploring. Kyle and I got paired up because he wanted to go back to the cabin, so I volunteered to take him. On our way back I saw some things I wanted to look at so I convinced him that once we were done I would take him back. So because I was with Kyle, and because he is usually willing to pose for a picture he became my victim.

This tree he is standing in was huge!

When Kyle and I parted from the rest of the group, my Dad said to yell when we were headed back. So when Kyle and I were finished I yelled that we were heading back....no response. So I yelled a couple more times as we headed in the direction of the others (or where I thought they had gone), but still they didn't answer so we headed toward the cabin. As we are trying not to get stuck in all of the thorns, my pocket starts ringing and I realize that I have my Dad's cell phone, it turned out to be my Dad calling to see where we were. They had gotten to the cabin before we did! When we got back Lindsay and my Dad had started a fire.

The next day everyone went on a walk.

We had a really good time!

Tomorrow we are off to visit my Dad's Aunt, in Pittsburgh.

Christmas Eve and New Years Eve!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hope you all had a good New Years Eve, I know we did.

I thought that I would do a double post, because I meant to post about our Christmas Eve but never had time. So here are pictures from Christmas Eve AND New Years Eve.

As you might know my Dads birthday is Christmas Eve, so for his birthday we went out for lunch/dinner at Chillies!

Now, these pictures go to prove that with a big family at one really long table, it is REALLY hard to get nice pictures.

I think it is so funny how you never know what is going on in a picture like this, but in the moment Nate (all the way in left) was not really pouting, and Grandma Phyllis (all the way on right) was not really praying, but that's what it looks like!

The time with family celebrating my Dads birthday was great, conversation was not lacking, and food was good and...well really BIG!

After lunch/dinner we went home to get ready for church. During the Christmas Eve service there was a lot of music. People played solos, some played music together, and then there were some of us young folk that were asked to sing two hymns. Amazing that almost everyone in this picture are smiling:-)

Hello Friends!

So sorry that I have not posted in a really long time:-( But I don't know exactly what to post about, therefore I have not posted! So this post will be a post that really has no meaning, so I won't be too sad if you don't even read it.

Today (yesterday) Rachel, Sarah and Kyle got to put a ginger bread house together. They were so excited! They had trouble getting the pieces to stay together, but after some help from Mom and some much needed patience it stayed. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of this momentous occasion. However, I do have some pictures from a little tea party.

This tea party included a Princess, Buz Lightyear, and Rachel (not quite sure who she decided to be).

Recently, Kyle has gotten into praying. He likes to pray before we eat Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner! Plus those extra little 'snacks':o)

Now I have to confess something, the Tea is not really tea! They prefer the taste of Hot Chocolate, but the sound of a 'Tea Party'.

A quick note on Kyle's praying. About a week ago Kyle was invited to his friend Will's birthday party, this was the first birthday party that he has gone to. And in his prayers ever since he got that invitation he would pray 'Thank you for this food, and bless it to our bodies. And help me to have a great time at Will's birthday party, and help me have a safe trip, and help me to have a good time and a great time and a wonderful time...' He would ask that in every prayer! And sometimes he would take such a long time praying about this party, that we would forget that he had prayed for the food! He is just so sweet.

And as it is now Christmas eve, I must finish this long post! But before I can do that I must say that, today is my wonderful dads birthday! He is turning 44. I will hopefully remember my camera, (as we will be going out to eat) so I can show you some pictures.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Today is my wonderful Mother's birthday! Right off the top of my head I cannot tell you how old she is:) But age doesn't matter. But here ARE some things I know:

My Mother loves her family. And it shows, in what she does, in how we are treated, in how we interact with each other.

My Mother has survived with six wonderful kids (hee hee)...

And three CRAZY older ones!

My Mothers life, with six kids, two horses, two dogs, and at times SEVEN cats (NEVER AGAIN!), has not always been so wonderful. There have been some very hard times. But I am thankful that she is still very sane, and that she does her best everyday to help her five kids (at home) grow and mature, into young lady's (and kyle) for the Lord.

My Mother LOVES the Italian water garden at Longwood Gardens...that is when it is turned on (the picture was taken last fall, and they do not have it running that time of year).

I will try to post some pictures of our day today. So we will see where today takes us...

Hello,

My Mother did a post about fall, and she listed 20 things that she loves about the fall. You can read her post here. So here is my list of 20 thing that I love about fall.

1. I love the chill in the air

2. I love the feeling of being cozy inside, while the leaves are falling (outside)

3. I love flannel sheets

4. I love carving pumpkins, even though they never turn out the way I imagined:(

5. I love mulled cider

6. I love hiking in the woods, with all the leaves on the ground

7. I love knitting hats and scarves for the winter

8. I love sitting in the fresh night air, drinking hot chocolate

9. I love the colors of the trees as they start to change color

10. I love seeing pumpkins in the Fields

11. I love that you have to start to wearing warmer clothes

12. I love making candles with my Mom and Sister(s)

13. I love my Grandma's pumpkin roll, that she makes every year (hint hint)

14. I love making Carmel apples

15. I love the candles that are scattered around the house

16. I love riding Sandy (Lindsay's horse) in the chilled air

17. I love watching the little kids play outside

18. I love going on walks in the evening

19. I love making English apple pie (that mom makes)

20. I love spending time with friends and family whatever time of year

Those are the 20 things that I love to do in the fall! Sorry it was kinda long:(

Note Cards

Here are some note cards that I have been making. They are easy to make, and when they are finished they look so pretty.

I made this card for a lady that I work with.

As you can probably tell, these are not the actual size. Unfortunately I don't have the measurement right now...

Some of them open up, and others do not...The picture above does not open, the one on the bottom opens.

Storm Pictures.

Ok so here are the pictures from the storm.

The sky got really dark. We saw it coming, and it really came...

So we went inside. The wind picked up, and it started to rain.

So when the trees started looking like this we went down stairs. After about five minuets it quited down, so we went up stairs and ate dinner. After dinner Dad, Lindsay and I went out to fix the fence where trees had fallen on it ( in four different places). And we found this...

This HUGE tree fell on the fence, so Dad got out the chain saw and cut off the branches that were on the fence.

This tree fell on the fence and also dented the gate...

Well its just a 'little' dented:)

A tree also fell on our temporary horse shelter, but we were able to just pull that one off.

P.S. We lost more than four trees, but i don't have very good pics of those. And some of those trees were uprooted, like the whole thing fell over!

My everything random post

Lindsay and I have been working on templates for envelopes for some note cards I have been making. I will post some pictures of them in a couple days.

We have been very busy lately with....work, laundry (today we started on the GIANT mountain in our bathroom), School, My cousins departed from here about a week ago, I have been working on the Piano and the Guitar, And well with a family as big as ours life is NEVER boring!

And now for a random story.....

This was my FAVORITE cat, from one of the MANY litters that our cat had. Her Name is Lola, and I loved this cat! She was a little 'wild' but she was so cute. Now for the sad part of our little story, When she was old enough to leave her mother, I was in Michigan with Grandma and Grandpa. And I was informed on one of my phone calls made to my Mother, that they had gotten rid of my sweet Lola! I was devastated! I came home not to see my sweet little Lola, but to see ALL the other not as cute cats.

The story above MIGHT have been exaggerated, just a little, though not very much at all........Ok so I exaggerated a lot but that's just so you will feel my pain.......

M&M Trouble.

Ok, so the other night at the Anniversary party, us young folk decided to eat M&M's while the adults gathered in the other room. But what started out as some innocent eating turned into something less innocent:) But my theory is that the trouble all started when we were joined by the fun adults.

I am not going to name names or anything, BUT it was a Mr. and his last name starts with a T. But you didn't get that from me....

Here Kaitlin and I are trying to toss M&M's into each other's mouths.

Here Mr. W is showing us how to 'hit' the M&M's into our mouths, by having an M&M on the tips of our fingers, Then you slap your hand and the M&M pops up and you try to get it in your mouth. WARNING: it is NOT as easy as it looks.

Here Mr. T is succeeding in his attempt! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Here Kaitlin is giving it a go...(she was scared that it would hit her in the eye (hee hee)).

50th Wedding Anniversary

My Mother made the amazing cakes! This one was a yellow cake with strawberries and whipped cream frosting.

My Grandparent's had a 'Drop in ' at their house. Alot of people came to celebrate!

Wait Grandma look this way!

For a 'Grooms cake' my mom got a cake pan in the shape of a Fire Truck. Mom made a Chocolate cake from scratch, with Chocolate frosting (also from scratch).

And then I decorated it. It was SO good!

Happy 50th Grandma and Grandpa! Love you!

Sorry I have not posted for a while! But it has been crazy around here! On the 14th my cousin Kaitlin arrived from California, Lindsay and I have been working a the Corn Maze, and it might not sound like much...but it is.

So I thought that I would share some pictures. Now I do realize that they are from Christmas, but they are funny! So here goes nothin.......

Sarah's seven!

Well today is the day that Sarah turned Seven! For her birthday, Sarah wanted to have a big party like Rachel. But this year so far we have been moving without stopping ( you can read about that here). So my AMAZING Mother, had the wonderful idea of inviting one of Sarah's good friends that she has not seen for about a year (her friend goes to our old church). Sarah also wanted to go to the Maze (Cherry Crest Adventure Farm), So we mixed the two, and surprised Sarah by picking her friend up and going down the road to the Maze. Lindsay and I took the little ones (Rachel,Sarah, Kyle, and Sarah's friend) to the Maze.

While we were there, they jumped on a GIANT jump pillow, slid down two HUGE slides, shot tennis balls with big slingshots, AND rode on the Pedal Carts!! It was an all round, wonderful, cool, exciting, fun, and surprising day! Whew! And that is not including the presents, cake, and horse riding, that went on when we came home. For her birthday Sarah got a scooter, a cute little puppy (NOT REAL), clothes, shoes, an 'outdoor' bag (from Lindsay), and something she has wanted FOREVER ...a pocket knife!

Sarah had a good time - too bad nobody else did - but I guess that she is all that matters today! :)

Girlies!!

Earlier this evening, Rachel and I went on a walk. It was getting dark but it was SO much fun! I have realized that Rachel is not just my little sister, but a girl that is getting older and does not just float about like she did when she was six. As I was thinking all this through, I realized that Sarah is going to be seven years old! She also, is getting older. Not the same as Rachel quite yet, but getting there!

So that is when it hit me that I should do more stuff with them. So this evening, I thought that I would do something fun with them. So I first was working on teaching Sarah the words of the old hymn 'Solid Rock'. It then turned into Rachel learning it also! Rachel even sang....OUT LOUD! Now if you know Rachel (most of you do) she does not enjoy talking to people outside of our immediate family, or even to sing outloud even at home. But she did it!

Ok, sorry back to my story! Um.....oh yes! So after they learned the words of the first verse, mom informed us that the little ones needed to get jammies on (Oh today mom made them nighties! they are too cute!), after that I dressed them up in cute little hats and one of my shawls. I didn't get any pictures.....yet. But maybe I will get some soon. Anywho, it was so much fun to do stuff with them, even though Rachel is five years younger than I am and Sarah three years younger than Rachel!

My mom has been reading a book with Lindsay and I, it is called 'In My Fathers House'. We are only on the second chapter, but it is such a good book. Though it is an older book, it still applies to our lives today.

Well tomorrow is Miss Sarah's seventh birthday, and Lindsay and I are helping with a little surprise for her. So I am guessing that I should be awake :) So now I need to get to bed.

Thanks for stopping by! This is my first ever post, so I thought that I would show some pictures of my siblings and a couple of our animals.

Here is the Cowgirl Rachel, with (the actually clean) Sandy.
